
| The Piedmont Hotel opened at
Luckie and Peachtree Streets on January 15, 1903. The
Atlanta Journal 's the next day: "The great dress parade of
people inspecting the Piedmont Hotel, which begun as soon as the Luckie
Street doors were opened yesterday at noon, continued unabated until 12
o'clock last night. During the early hours of the night thousands
of men and women floked into the parlors, lobbies and corridors,
examining the hotel and all its splendid appointments..." The owners were Hoke Smith, George W. Parrott and S. F. Parrott (who were the first to register in their new hotel).
